Dear AAITE Community,
I am deeply honored and overjoyed to step into the role of Chair-Elect for the American Association of Interpreters and Translators in Education. To have earned your trust and support is a profound privilege, and I am energized by the opportunity to serve this extraordinary community of professionals.
Our field stands at a pivotal, dynamic moment. Educational interpreters and translators do far more than convert words across languages; we ensure that every student, family, and educator can participate fully, equitably, and meaningfully in the educational journey. We are the bridge-builders for language access, civil rights, and community engagement in our schools.
Looking ahead, the future of our profession and our association is bright, despite the challenges imposed by AI. Together, we will continue to elevate standards, advocate for the vital human expertise our students and families deserve, and expand opportunities for professional development and recognition across the country. Through our collective voice, dedication, and shared vision, AAITE will continue to lead the way in shaping a resilient, recognized, and empowered community focused on language access in educational settings.
Thank you for your dedication to our craft and to the communities we serve every day. I look forward to working alongside each of you as we write this next chapter together.
Warm regards,
Christina Green
Chair-Elect, American Association of Interpreters and Translators in Education (AAITE)
